AIK HUNAR AIK NAGAR (AHAN)

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

The Government of Pakistan has launched a project titled “Aik Hunar Aik Nagar” (AHAN) / Rural Enterprise Modernization with the objective of assisting rural and peri-urban areas in poverty alleviation by helping their micro and small enterprise sector.

Micro and small enterprises of rural areas are generally engaged in producing a number of non-farm products including handicrafts, embroidery of different types, weaving, ornaments, wood-work, articles of daily use, decoration pieces etc. The Project envisages making these products competitive for local, national and international markets by contributing in one or more of the following areas:

1. Skill enhancement of artisans / workers
2. Product designing, innovation and Quality assurance
3. Technological up-gradation / input
4. Market linkages and marketing strategies
5. Networking with financial institutions
6. Any other related activity which can make products modern & competitive.

Presently, AHAN is in the process of identifying feasible projects for implementation across Pakistan. All interested parties are requested to complete the ‘Request for Proposal’ form in this regard. Kindly read the following guidelines prior to forming your proposal:

1. There should be clusters / organizations / groups that are directly involved in making the product(s).
2. The clusters / organizations / groups should be willing to improve their products.
3. Majority of artisans / workers of clusters should preferably belong to rural / semi urban poor producer groups including wage-earners and women.
4. Partner Organization(s) may preferably be willing to contribute its share (financial and / or otherwise) in order to show its ownership.
5. Government Institutions that intend to or have already initiated activities in a particular area which fall within the purview of AHAN project may also contact AHAN.
6. Any other institution / person interested in contributing their services for the proposed project may also join with the consent of AHAN / Partner Organization.
7. Please use a separate form for each product if you wish to send proposals for more than one product.
8. AHAN reserves the right to reject any or all proposals without assigning any reason.
